I’ve read every Grisha book & it amazes how people either have never read the books or woefully misunderstand Alina and the darkling. Alina is infatuated w/ him at first cuz she’s like 17 & then realizes he legit wants to enslave her for her powers & force her to be his property

The Darkling threatens 2 skin her alive, enslave her, murder all her friends and love interests, isolates her, imprisons her etc. again, Alina & the author herself make it extremely obvious Alina doesn’t want 2 be his pet & that he doesn’t actually care about her, only her powers
