Having an operation in a couple of weeks and being told I have to swap an on call rather than take it as sick leave....the NHS is *such* a bin fire.

And people wonder why they struggle to retain staff. This is on a rota that I& #39;ve worked for over 2 years and have not missed a single shift.

Nothing surprises me in the NHS anymore and I have zero fight left in me and I& #39;m now in the phase of being disappointed in myself for getting so entrenched in an organisation that takes so much and gives so little back.
