I am making this based on the original thread by @/sleepytwtsmd because I, and a lot of others felt like that thread wasn’t useful for sending to ccs since it’s very clearly antagonistic in certain places.
However, the information in it is very important and I don’t want people being put off from the importance of holding SBI accountable for damaging rhetoric because of the presentation of that thread.
First, Wilbur. I am aware he’s apologized for some of the lyrics and changed them, so I won’t be including those in this thread.

This song is meant to be from a “nice guy” persona but that doesn’t make the underlying racism okay to participate in

As far as I can tell, this has not been addressed. It is from a number of years ago when it was normalized but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be addressed
On to Techno, which will be the majority of this thread. I haven’t found that he has apologized for any of this. The tweets were mostly deleted instead of addressed.

The antisemitism, racism, and ableism in this thread is (mostly) from a time on the internet where those things were normalized. In bringing these up, I am not seeking to cancel any of them. I’m asking them to hold themselves accountable for past actions instead of ignoring them.
Sleepytwt. We should want to hold our ccs to a higher standard than the mistakes of their past. If we think they’ve changed, then we should expect and encourage them to admit that they see why this rhetoric was harmful.
