It is woman and girls in science day! Let me tell you about some of the fabulous women that I have the pleasure of working on science with every day at @CedarUK and @MRC_Epid #WomenInScienceDay
@KateEllis8 is developing a framework of agency in public health interventions. The project is the epitome of 'no, I have no idea what the method is either, if we just keep taking baby steps can we make something work?' She is thoughtful, patient & careful

@_hannah_forde is working on food 'marketing' in the context of sugary drinks taxes. She turned my boring PhD idea into something that has changed my thinking. She's within touching distance of being Dr Forde. Please don't distract her in the next 7 weeks. https://www.mrc-epid.cam.ac.uk/people/hannah-forde/
@miriamralvarado is taking up a Wellcome fellowship looking at the causal mechanisms underpinning soda taxes. She think's I'm amazing coz I say 'i don't know' so much. I think she's amazing coz she gets me to say 'i don't know' so much https://www.mrc-epid.cam.ac.uk/people/miriam-alvarado/
Yuru Huang is a whirlwind and brings so much fun to my life. In less than 5 months she's built a database of the nutritional content of chain restaurant menus and drafted 2 papers. I'm fairly sure she'll be finished her PhD before her 1st year assessment.

@Catrin_P_Jones is leading the qualitative components of our evaluation of the Soft Drinks Industry Levy. She picked up a project half way through and knew exactly how to run with it. She's is beyond thoughtful in her approach to everything.

@Roxanne_ea is doing something secret with @martinwhite33 on how supermarkets 'really' work. I can't wait to hear the findings. When I grow up I hope I have the courage that she has to call out all the nonsense.

@dollytheis is exploring how obesity policy is made. Every day she embodies that it's okay to disagree, but not okay to be disagreeable. I hope I am learning from her. https://www.mrc-epid.cam.ac.uk/people/dolly-theis/
And I think @EvanSluijs @amy_ahern and @JennaPanter are also pretty amazing. But I'm fairly sure they know so already.
And of course there are more woman in science in @MRC_Epid and beyond who enrich my life in many different ways every day. Here's to us all!
