Principle #1: Focus on Retention first.Retention is key

Your retention curve should flatten out and be an asymptote to the X-axis

What % gets retained(height on Y-axis) is a factor of your industry, so look up data to see where you should be.
Principle #2: Have a North-Star metric. It drives clarity on what the goal is across teams.
Every experiment, feature release, etc. should be made to positively affect this north star

If not, teams can sometimes optimize for conflicting goals- which hurts growth.
Principle #3: Figure out your Magic moment
What makes users say they love your product?
What action separates sticky users from churned users?Figure these out and drive all new users towards this "aha moment". Keep this process as frictionless as possible.
Here are some popular tactics to try:- SEO/Content
- SEM
- Paid and organic social
- Virality
- Email, SMS, Push notifications
- On-site merchandising (upsells, cross-sells)
This is it. Time to grow
