On vaccinations: GPs have discretion to vaccinate pensioners on a household basis. Yet plenty are not doing so. Thus, eg, an 80+ year old might get their jab next week but their 70+ year old spouse will have to wait, thereby delaying "household immunity"...
...and further delaying the moment at which they can receive visits, including from, eg, carers whose visits have been discontinued until such time as both members of the household have been vaccinated.
I know that politicians are aware of this concern yet guidance to GPs that they may show their discretion does not always seem to be being applied. Perhaps this is a supply issue too. But it is an issue I suspect many families are vexed about right now.
