We were in our second year of playing Second Division football and the future was rather grim. The club was granted a one-year stay of execution in hopes to pay off their debts and remain intact.
In these dark times, the team rallied and rose to the occasion to the fullest.

We had beaten Nottingham Forest 2-1 at home a few weeks prior to this match which meant we needed just one point from our final two games to regain promotion to the First Division.

The match played out exactly how we needed when club legend, Ray Wilkins, played a ball into Tommy Langley to set up the opening goal for the Blues.
It remained a tightly contested battle until the very end when @Wolves grabbed the equalizer with under 15 minutes to go.
