The lockdown absolutists think those of us who aren’t are idiots who “don’t believe” in the virus. I believe in it. I know dozens of people who have had it. I recognize the risk. I will not destroy our society or hide inside for over a year because I’m afraid of it.
That third graph explains the first two. People understand this is a real virus. They also understand that the vast majority of people experience few symptoms and almost every single one recovers, especially those under 70. They’re simply doing risk analysis.
These are parents who recognize their kids are at statistically zero risk of death or serious complications of COVID and that their mental health is the priority. This is rational and more parents should be making this effort to strive to give their kids normalcy, not a bubble.
