It started with a speech and a prayer led by “US”

Then we marched straight to the House of Assembly.

Just like every other day we were welcomed by security forces.

But what stood out for me was the fact that most of the officers wore smiles on their faces. Not the “una go tire smiles” but genuine smiles.

Like they were happy we came back.

People unleashed all their bottled up emotions, cursing and swearing but they stood still.

You could see on some of their faces that they understood but couldn’t “Soro sôke”

We demanded to speak with the senate president but someone else came. The crowd chanted the words “who are you” demanding an introduction but he kept saying who he is wasn’t important. This lady insisted that the officers each collect a copy of the handbill which had the names and pictures of victims of SARS and Police Brutality. After much back and forth they collected and started to read it.
