I was going to be on the BBC today having a chat about the GRA - but I pulled out yesterday, having been informed that it& #39;s BBC policy to have a cis woman invited to speak on any segment about trans ppl - I& #39;m not going on TV to be yelled at by a transphobe from the Daily Mail.

Two things to take from this:
Firstly, it& #39;s fascinating that they say & #39;cis woman& #39; and yet apparently every cis woman they have on their list is a transphobe - almost like they don& #39;t MEAN cis woman at all - if they DID mean & #39;cis woman& #39; surely the host would have done, eh?

Secondly, apparently trans people aren& #39;t allowed to talk about trans stuff on the BBC without a cis transphobe present, because otherwise it& #39;s biased.
So that& #39;s great. Not at all terrible or concerning.

What& #39;s worse is that the researcher who originally booked me had an all-trans guest list - with people taking varying stances, but all trans positive - and then the higher-ups insisted that a transphobe be present.
The rot goes deep.

If you want to talk with me about trans stuff, I am happy to sit down and have a chat - but I will not be part of a shouting match or turned into a spectacle on live TV.
I may be poor, but I will not be selling my dignity for the amount offered as a standard appearance fee.
