i am VERY passionate about cmbyn (the book AND movie) maybe i’ll do a stream someday where i just ramble for an hour about how much it pisses me off when people say it’s too “weird”

ok ya know what i’m just gonna summarize here because it’s very important to me so BASICALLY when you say it’s “too weird” you’re being completely oblivious to the whole point of the story

the entire point of the story is to MAKE you feel uncomfortable... it embodies the discomfort involved with being gay in the 80s and trying to figure yourself out in a world that you know will never truly accept you

anyways this is how i see it, you have to embrace the discomfort as it puts you in their shoes, it’s not just about cute gay boys who fall in love, it’s heartbreaking and tragic and disgusting and beautiful and ok i’m done thank you for coming to my ted talk
