comparing biden to fidel castro is an insult to castro, for many reasons. not least of which the fact that while biden kept lying about trying to visit mandela in prison, castro was actually good friends w/ mandela and helped the ANC& #39;s liberation struggle
as biden made up stories about being imprisoned while trying to visit mandela, revealing just how shameless and depraved he is and how easily lying comes to him, cuba sent troops to fight off the apartheid regime& #39;s fascist shock-troops, which played a crucial role in its collapse
that is why the first country mandela visited after he was released from prison was cuba, to personally thank castro for the help the cuban people provided. not just rhetorically, but materially, with resources and arms. and he insisted on castro visiting south africa
castro did take that trip to his south african home in 1994, and he and mandela saw each other many times after that, having formed a lifelong friendship based on a shared experience of and commitment to revolutionary anti-imperialist struggle
