Let's be crystal clear about what this case look like:
A racialized woman pushed out of her CEO position because she said empirically accurate but benign things about how a polarized partisan agenda might be bad for business in #abpoli #ableg https://www.nationalobserver.com/2020/08/17/opinion/speaking-out-comes-cost-alberta-just-look-former-ceo-calgary-chamber-commerce

The partisan strategy is craven. It's goal is to make "Albertan" synonymous with the UCP. Any opposition, critique, or questioning? Then you're not one of "us."
And we need to beat "them."
And we need to beat "them."
This us vs them dynamic is well-established for some re: the Trudeau federal government. The problem that Lalli correctly identified is that the drive in us vs them politics gets people to create an advocate policies that actually cause them material harm.
It's bad for business
It's bad for business
It's also really bad for democracy. It's why, in addition to this being spectacularly problematic on race and gender grounds, many of us see this as a shocking example of a long-standing pattern with the Kenney Government https://www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/article-albertans-must-not-let-our-government-push-a-polarized-partisan/
The goal in making Albertans polarized and primed for a fight, where "victory" means beating "them" is that it puts policies that legit cost and harm us on the table.
And as Lalli's case suggests, telling the truth about that harm now = "you're not one of us, so you have to go"

Lalli deserves better than this. We all do.
Do NOT buy into this "us vs them' polarized partisan bullshit, people. Anyone who's ready to cause harm because it's good for their party does not merit being trusted with government

I have the benefit of tenure, which means I didn't get fired when the premier and his cronies decided I wasn't one of "us." What did I do "wrong"? I said it was corrupt for gov't to use their power to stall or stop investigations into their activities https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/election-commissioner-officially-ousted-with-bill-22-passage
I see what's coming down in policy, and I worry about who else is cast as "them" who must be fought:
Physicians, parents, school boards, public sector workers, universities, municipalities, women. The list goes on, and it's long.

This is why I'm here for this
. I didn't get fired for not falling in line on policy that harms more than it helps, but others did. We need to fight back https://twitter.com/EmmaMayMMA/status/1295374848470876162?s=19
