We had to go to extreme lengths to get the paper out last night. A limited number of people had to rotate in and plug directly into the server. Internet and all communications were down. Many flash drives were used. @gazettedotcom #iawx #derecho2020

I had to write out a plan for the section by hand three times so that everyone could have a copy! I also somehow wrecked a flash drive? But we managed to get it out and didn’t even miss deadline too badly.

It was truly a heroic effort from the entire @gazettedotcom team.

Special shoutout to Shawn Hoy and the IT people who I think worked about a 17-hour day yesterday? Incredible effort.
