The dramatic increase in unemployment as an impact of #COVID19 esp. for low wage & informal sector workers who are women & girls from marginalized caste (who were already vulnerable) find themselves in even more precarious circumstances & are at greater risk of exploitation++
On this #WorldDayAgainstTraffickingInPersons, I call on national and local governments, law enforcement, criminal justice systems and human rights organizations to redouble efforts to identify and report trafficking, bring perpetrators to justice, and support survivors.
