ADVISORY
is issued for less serious weather events that mainly cause a significant inconvenience but could threaten life and/or property if caution is not taken. Typically issued for events that are ongoing or are likely to occur. Advisory = Use Caution
WATCH
is issued when the risk of an extreme weather event has increased, and likelihood of severe weather is in the near future. Could post a threat to life and/or property. Typically issued for potential event 12 to 48 hours in advance. Watch = Get Your Plan Ready
WARNING
is issued when an extreme weather event is occurring, imminent, or has a very high likelihood of occurring. The event will post a threat to life and/or property. Typically issued for immediate action. Warning = Take Protective Action Now!
