w that being said, even tho Phoebe is greek and not english, there is so much privilege in having a eurocentric name as a poc.

i escaped many possible racist encounters that poc w names from their native language do not have the luxury of doing.

i did, however, feel ashamed and embarrassed whenever non-Korean people found out my middle name bc they would always butcher/make fun of the pronunciation. but now it’s a name I’m proud to bear.

사랑 (sarang) and it means love :))))
