It is an understatement that A LOT HAS HAPPENED IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS so I thought I would start my tweets off today with a recap from what’s been going on at Ginkgo
In March, my team was sent to work from home indefinitely. It feels surreal as we pack up all our things and our goodbyes consist of "see you...next year"

Things I miss from the office: the SNACKS (see behind me). Also, here is a photo of me deciding what color we should paint our new space at Ginkgo and realizing that paint chips make great earrings
In April, Ginkgo pivots our platform to COVID-19 and commits $25M in free resources to fighting the pandemic

In May, coronavirus cases are surging - disproportionately affecting communities of color, testing is not nearly high enough, the unemployment rate is climbing, and apparently giant hornets have arrived in the U.S.

Also in May, I was featured on @biofabricate’s Creatives in Biotech series! A lot of people reached out afterwards wanting to chat about how to navigate the art/science intersection and it made me realize that there are more of us out there then it feels like
In June, the world finally realizes that racism still exists. It’s also a public health crisis. By the way, Black lives still matter, and we have a lot of work to do in the synthetic biology community to be more actively anti-racist. https://www.ginkgobioworks.com/2020/06/10/black-lives-matter/
With everything going on in June I momentarily was like, what pandemic??? But then we announce our new covid-19 testing platform, Concentric by Ginkgo, and I remember again

FINALLY, last week, we launched our new digital platform for @growbyginkgo that aims to tell stories about synthetic biology authentically, vulnerably, and creatively. I'm incredibly proud to be a part of it and you should follow us and subscribe
