Irony isn& #39;t a universal own, it& #39;s a means of samizdat. If your beliefs are more acceptable than what you& #39;re "ironically" opposing, you get easily owned by both irony *and* sincerity.

This means that irony is a tactic, not a strategy. If you deploy irony against the wrong enemy, that means you get Bane& #39;d: you merely adopted the irony, they were born in it

The irony betrays you because it belongs to them

At the same time, if your irony isn& #39;t wrapped around a kernel of hard truth, if someone suddenly replies with sincere truth, your irony is instantly shattered like a cheap glass: you are BTFO& #39;d, there is nothing left but a bloody mess on the floor
