I& #39;m 20 min in and I think I& #39;ve solved the murderer and motive.
This was the worst arrest I& #39;ve ever seen. No backup. No warrant. No cuffs. No Miranda. And the suspect just walked out of the restaurant with the detective following behind him.

Oop. Ghostwriter motive. I was right! And a bit of racism too but they& #39;re not explicitly saying it. I just noted it early on.
Black woman Romance writer in a beautiful writing retreat cottage outed the victim Romance writer as using a ghostwriter bc she didn& #39;t even know her "own" books. The plot thickens. Motive confirmed.
