Pretty sure this is from one of the Oaks (California Black or Coast Live.) I don& #39;t often see such a variety of lichens on our California Bay Laurel neighbors, and the geometry of the stick feels oakish to me. 2/
This stick is a garden. 3/
I wonder about the interactions between lichen species... 4/
Competitors? Collaborators? Or something else? 5/
